Please be advised that the Greenville County Redevelopment Authority (GCRA) will hold a public hearing on Monday, February 22, 2021, at 4:00 pm pertaining to the Amendment of the FY 2020 Consolidated Plan and Annual Action Plan to include the use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) COVID-19 second round of funds via Zoom virtual platform. The purpose of the public hearing is to obtain feedback and comments concerning the amendment of the Plans and proposed use of the additional COVID funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, a total of $2,258,601 in CDBG-CV and $1,935,622 in ESG-CV grant funds.
These funds are to be utilized during FY 2020 to assist residents in Greenville County that have been impacted by the Coronavirus Pandemic, including residents in Spartanburg County in City limits of Greer and Laurens County in the City limits of Fountain Inn. The CDBG-CV fund will not be available to residents in the City limits of Greenville. The COVID-19 funds will be used to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus pandemic and growing effects of the historic public health crisis. Proposed uses of the funds are rental assistance, utility assistance, shelter and outreach activities, mortgage assistance, business assistance, medical safety supplies, and Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).
