The Post and Courier article — Greenville County Redevelopment Authority hires new director from within

The Post and Courier (Greenville) has published an article announcing GCRA’s new Executive Director.

The Greenville County Redevelopment Authority has selected a new executive director from within its own ranks to replace outgoing head John Castile. 

Joe Smith, who has served as GCRA’s operations director for the past 11 years, will step into the lead role after a unanimous vote from the agency’s board July 9.

The GCRA is tasked with administering millions in federal and local housing dollars as well as partnering with local groups to create and preserve affordable homes in the county. Smith’s first day as director will be July 11.
