Job Posting: Associate Property Maintenance Technician

The Greenville County Redevelopment Authority is seeking to fill the position of Associate Property Maintenance Technician.

General Statement of Job:

Under limited supervision, performs various routine-moderate maintenance activities in support of the Greenville County Redevelopment Authority (GCRA) Operations Divisions activities. Work involves providing requested maintenance activities for agency owned rental properties with professional and courteous customer service at all times. Reports to the Operations Director.

Essential Duties:

  • Diagnose and perform minor and routine maintenance/repair in a timely and professional manner. Ensure all service requests are completed on a daily basis. Accurately document work performed.
  • Inspects vacated properties and complete make-ready checklist. Informs Operations Director of needed services and repairs. Routinely performs duties to restore properties to “make ready” status.
  • Ensure vacant unit thermostats are set at the proper setting for the vacant unit.
  • Electrical – perform routine electrical repair repairs such as: wiring, fuses, fixtures, and sockets. As well as repair, install, and service HVAC systems.
  • Plumbing – perform routine plumbing repairs such as: replace, repair, and service hot water heaters. Clear drain lines. Replace broken pipes, worn out washers, gaskets and or faucets and floats.
  • Carpentry – perform routine carpentry repair such as: kitchen cabinets, window screens/glass, door locks, and plaster/drywall.
  • Mechanical – perform routine mechanical repair such as: repair/diagnose all major appliances, operate mower, auger, and other needed power tools.
  • Pest Control – as needed pest control services.
  • Other skills tasks such as: interior and exterior painting. Floor tile installation and repair. Interior cleaning, lawn mowing, leaf raking, tree/shrub trimming, debris removal, and other landscaping duties.
  • Inventory – identifying, cataloging, and procuring necessary materials used in maintenance operations.
  • Basic trouble shooting and routine maintenance.
  • Recognize when specialized knowledge is needed.
  • Perform effective emergency maintenance (after hours) as required and withing a time frame specified by Operations Director.
  • On-call responsibilities.
  • Complete special projects as may be assigned and prioritized by Operations Director.
  • Attend trainings, meetings, seminars and/or workshops to enhance job knowledge and skills.
